Pennsylvania............i got a plumber to replace my soil pipes and also replace some water pipes in my house and in the process of them replacing it they had to shut off the curb side valve to do the job. so they did just that and I guess the thought it was shut off and instead of them checking to see if the water valve was off they cut or broke a water pipe in the house and caused a flood which was under control in about an hour.i was originally gave a price of $3,900.00 . After the water pipe was broke they had to dig up the street and I was given another bill that included the $3,900.00 it came up to $5,600.00.Now i am charged 1,351.87 for more extras to a grand total of $6,351.87. that is almost double the original amount. If the job was done right i wouldn't mind paying all this money but they were to have the job done in one ,two at most days. it was 4 days by the time they got finished.the main water pipe they replaced was done incorrect and they had to come out and reaffix it,and now instead of a one long piece pipe it is three pieces.the cement they replaced in the basement was done by hand because the worker they sent to do this job did not have a smoothing tral.he used his hand to patch it,so I had to have my son refinish it. our rugs are dirty because they failed to put the plenty of tarps down that they said they would before the job was started. in the yard they replaced the drain and in doing that, they put a pipe in the shed doorway and it couldn't close so they again made an adjustment which was not legal but it was the only way they could get the shed door to close.. when they replaced the pipes in our bathroom they trashed some of our wall paper,I mean they through it in the trash.when they seen me coming i feel they really took advantage of me. being on a disability income this really was upsetting to me and my whole family. is there anything that we can do to recover some of our losses.
