Hi, I hope I get some type of response to this huge GRIPE! We wanted a inground pool and had several pool companies come out. We narrowed our selection and went with a company that put in a co-workers pool. The contractor also lives in that same co-workers neighborhood. We felt confident and signed a contract in March. The pool supplies were ordered and than delivered the 3rd week in April. At which time 50% of the purchase price was due. At the drop of the vinyl liner the next 40% was due. the last 10% to be paid when the concrete is finished. Mind you that this company stated from beginning to end if should take approximately 2 weeks to complete! It is nearly 15 weeks later and the pool is NOT finished. Our summer has been miserable. This was suppose to be our vacation in our back yard this year! My hubby took days off to be here when work was suppose to be completed...never happened! We get one excuse after another. I haven't gotten this months phone bill yet but I have so far highlighted 54 phones calls that we have made to this company. This doesn't even include the calls we made to other masons to finish the work! Our kids go back to school in 5 weeks and it will be time to put a cover on it! We our so diappointed, disgusted and feel we should take them to court. I would like to know under what grounds? and do I not just feel that we have a case; but INDEED have a case? I feel we are due some type of restitution for this type of work. I contacted the BBB and they have no prior complaints logged as of yet. Small claims court in NJ only allows up to 2,000. and the special civil part court goes up to 10,000. The pool total is 21,000. Out of nearly 120 days they have only shown up approximately 6 days! Is this unprofessional..or what? The township we live in gives 500.00 fines per person per incident if caught swimming before final inspection! The pool guy told me that is only so the twp. gets to tax us on it and to not NOT use the pool! In other words he says to use it the way it is by all means! Is that legal? Your comments will be looked forward to!! Thankyou!
