I live in Pa, and i work for my county as an youth advocate and I have a client who is terrified to be at home she is not getting pyhsically abused, but definately mentally abused. Her parents tell her that she only lives there to babysit the younger kids and that they don't care about her. They are always picking on her for the littlest things. One minute its ok to do something and then she is punished for doing that same thing. She is laughed at when she cries and they refuse to take her seriously. Its ashame to see a bright girl who is such a wonderful person at such a young age be destroyed and neglected. There are more problems then this that are way worse then what i have described. The things that i have seen and the things i have heard are too much. It kills me to leave her at home. She is such a good kid and all she wants is to live a normal life. She is sixteen and i would like to know what her options are, if any, so I can use my position in the county to help her in anyway that i can. There were two other siblings in the house that are no longer there one is in placement and the other was forced to stay in the basement when she was not at school, so now she lives with her mother. This one does not belong in placement and the option to live with her mother is out of the question. Please help me help this girl. All she needs is someone who cares about her and i want to help.
