What is the name of your state? TX

I have submitted a questions on this topic before....but I will go back and review the situation. My neice and nephew live with relatives on their mothers side. Last Christmas, my neice told me in strictest confidence that their uncle beats on her brother (my nephew) and tells them awful things about their parents. I struggled with what to do with this, namely because if anything was happening my nephew would end up lost to my family because he is not blood-related. In the end, I reported it to their school couselor and she reported to CPS. I never heard anything about any investigation after an intial phone call or any word from them that anything happened. Now, my neice has been telling my other neice about it and talking about running away from home. I very, very worried and just want to do the right thing here. What can I do? Any advice??

How did you know the school's councilor reported the alleged abuse to CPS ?

Why are you not reporting it ?

Also , in todays society the word " beating " could just the language people use .

As it " I'm going to beat you " , but in reality they are not really beaten .

If the children are in school and have been beaten with bruises , they should go to the school's nurses office and report it .

I know she reported it because I received a call from the caseworker at the CPS office.

I was given advice on this site not to report it myself because people could find out and then we would end up alienated from the kids.

I know I have to take things teenagers say about their parents with a grain of salt. For all we know, they could just be angry at the parental figures. However, my neice clearly stated to me that their uncle was actually beating on her brother so badly that she almost dialed 9-1-1.

I am just at a loss....I want to help these kids. They are my family.....
