Is there anything I can tell a friend to do do, to protect herself and children from losing their home and any assests they have? Her husband is terminally ill and has turned to drinking until he is nearly unconsious. He is lucky he has not killed himself or worse yet some innocent person while drinking and driving on many occasions. They are both on the same car insurance policy, but if something should happen would she be liable as well? Even though she has done everything possible to stop him, he manages to get the car. They live in Wi. what does she have to do? Can she legally divorce him if he is terminally ill? Thought that was illegal in Wisconsin? Please HELP!!!

There are new devices that courts have required -- a breath test to start a car.

Thank you for the reply Rodger R.
I have heard of the courts ordering such a
device but it has been after an arrest and conviction. To purchase such a device on ones
own and have it installed would be of great cost to her. They are on a fixed income as it is and pay $900.00 medical premiums per month for Cobra family health insurance.
Besides, with the car titled in his name could she do it without his consent?
Thanks again
