i have a tourist visa and am currently here in the US and was wondering if it would be difficult for possible employers to hire someone who is out of status. I am asking this because it seems that i am running out of time. I applied for an extension and so basically if granted I have a few more months to look for one. However i did not pass my licensure exam as a nurse here in California and would need some time to take it again. I was not expecting to fail that exam and it seems like most of plans didn't turn out the way i wanted it. Because I have stayed here in the US for almost 6 months now and have applied for an extension, I am no longer certain if going back home is an option. Because I do not want to wait for another year or so before i can come back without the immigration questioning my return for a vacation. I think it would be hard for anyone to believe that I do not have any intention to live here for good if i have stayed for more than 6 months.

i am really confused right now and badly need of legal advice. I was kind of hoping to hear options available for me just so my status would still be fine during my quest to pass the NCLEX-RN exam and look for an employer.

ever since i was kid all i ever dreamed of is to relocate here in the US and now that I am here I would like to live it. I hope my dream doesn't turn out as a nightmare cause being out status in the land of the free just doesn't sound right and was not in any part of my intention and dream.

Your legal advice would be greatly appreciated.
