I subletted an apartment in Chicago last July from my boyfriend who has a signed lease through April 2001. My current roommate and I never signed a lease but are pying the rent directly to the landlord. In the past few monthes the living situation has gone very sour and I am now at the point where I can't stand to be in the apartment with my roommate. My boyfriend has offered to evict her because she has never signed a lease, to ease the situation... My questions are, can we do this? Is it possible to just ask her to leave because it is technically his apartment? And if we do and she does something to damage the apartment is he liable or is she?
