I moved out my previous apartment as I'm taking on a job in another state. I lived in the apartment a little more than a month. I didn't sign anything but gave my roommate $500 as a deposit and he provided a receipt. It was agreed orally that I'll let him know 30 days before moving out. I told him about 2 weeks before I left. But he refused to give back even part of the deposit. Any thoughts? Thanks.
