I have a mortgage with an ex-bf who wants nothing to do with the house, but will not sign a quitclaim deed because it will not remove his name from the mortgage. Is it possible to refinance the house into my own name without his signature? I am in Ga.

No because he would need to sign the deed to transfer his interest over to you.
So tell him that you will refinance and take him of the mortgage and he needs to deed the property over to you. The lender will require escrow so he will be protected.

What would escrow require from me?

Thank you for your response. When you say the lender would require escrow and that would protect him, how does that affect me? How does it protect him?

You both would be protected but that is what you tell him (he would be protected) so he don't give you no hassle about getting ripped off.
