What is the name of your state? Indiana

My friend's ex-boyfriend posted pictures of her on his website, in a dirty attempt to embarrass her. It's not a for-profit site or anything. She voluntariliy took the photos with him when they were together, but never in a million years agreed to have them distributed in this manner.

What kind of claim can she bring against him? Is this an invasion of privacy matter? Emotional distress? Thanks!

interview

I am a reporter working on a story on digital victims -- people who have had private images posted on the internet without their consent. Would you or your friend be willing to talk to me for this story?

I wonder if your friend could use the same legal stategy that models may employ, when someone uses their photograghs without a proper "RELEASE".
see this link for an example...

If not, then it really ought to come under the laws governing right to privacy.
This is a topic I am currently researching regarding my own similar personal situation, in which I was the sole photo subject. :(

These photos belong to the ex's boyfriend and he can do as he wishes with them. Next time your friend should use a little discretion.

And no, there is no expectation of privacy since she knew the photos were being taken and, as you said, was a willing participant.

Also, there is no copyright or trademark issues involved.

Plainly put, she needs to use better judgement.
