What is the name of your state?oklahoma.
my step-sister has durable power of attorney over my step-father (her father) who has alzheimers. he is now in a nursing home. his will names five heirs. she has emptied his house of everything, is using his car and house, has transferred most of his money into her bank account etc.
since his belongings and money would be his estate is she required to keep track of what she spends, what money comes in and the money she made selling his belongings?
what are the other four heirs' legal rights?

Until dad dies there ARE no hiers. If she has POA she can pretty much bleed him dry.
You need to speak with an elder abuse attorney now to see if you can stop her.

Advice you received about consulting an attorney is excellent. Some states have specific laws regarding abuse of power of attorney and it is considered as embezzlement.
