Does becoming attorney-in-fact cause a person to become responsible for the pricipal's debts? My mother in law is sick and has no insurance. My wife is being appointed attorney-in-fact. Will she be stuck with the hospital bills?

It should not unless the hospital tricks her into signing something in an individual or guarantor capacitry or she accidently signs something in an individual capacity -- or fails to sign as "Mary Doe, as Attorney-in-Fact for Molly Smith"....
