power surge

I have a 3 year old refrigerator. I was hit by a power surge approximately 9 months prior to the condenser and compressor dying. I lost 2 televisions, outdoor low voltage lighting, wifi, ATT&T cable, phone answering machine, DVR, and garage door opener and GFI outlet in garage. Any chance the surge contributed?
