I am planning on divorcing my husband of 9 years 6 months. We have 2 (minor) children, and both make about the same salary (which separately are not enough to sustain our home, etc). All financial assets are in my name.

Here are my questions: How can I protect the finances (without having to split them with my ex-to-be? Can I close bank accounts, etc. BEFORE I start any divorce proceedings? Will I be entitled to any alimony (either before or after the 10 years of marriage)? Can his wages be garnished as a term of the divorce, instead of waiting to see if he will pay on his own (which he won't)?

Please help!

Thanks!

PS. I am from Pennsylvania
