What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Ca.

I have been charged with both VC 23152 (A) and (B). I was just charged and an arraignment hearing conducted. I have been scheduled for both a pre-trial conference and a given a trial date. The judge demanded my presence at the pre-trial. I have an attorney, and was told initially I likely would never have to appear in court. Is this a bad sign?

Is is normal to have a trial date set at the arraignment (we pled not guilty). Please advise, I am a nervous wreck and am terrified I am going to jail. This is a first offense, high BAC (over .20). Thank you.

A trial date is often set at arraignment. But, this can change as a result to motions, pre-trial conferences, continuances, etc.

And, yes, if convicted a couple of days of jail time is mandatory.
