I will try to be as concise as possible.

A number of years ago I had been blamed for a theft from an ambulance squad I was a member of - (a pager that was assigned to me of all things... They stated they found the pager inside my car.) Since I was running for captain - and things were looking up the current leadership found a way to get me out of the picture ... the arresting officer was family of the leadership at that time... and I was powerless.

I was given something to sign and told - if I went away silently I could leave w/ my dignity.
I did not have an attorney - worked locally and thought it best just to walk away - after walking away I was prosecuted - the County Prosecutor's office suggested I take something called Pre-Trial Intervention - as did the Court appointed attorney - who stated they could not help me if I did not take the PTI .

I took the PTI - and it was easy enough - and I have been clear of any issues prior to this time incident - and since this incident.

Although - Yes now I know that things went terribly wrong - and that I could / should pursue the issue in regards to unlawful prosecution - etc... but honestly i would rather just let the thing die and walk away.

Moving forward many years - I am now in seminary - and getting ready for the process of having background checks completed etc...

I need to have this issue expunged. Furthermore I want to send a notice to the Squad and a few members who have in the past spoken publicly in regards to this matter for cease and desist.

So here are my questions:

1. What is the process and approx cost for expundgement in NJ, Camden County
2. Is it possible to enforce against a ambulance squad (where everyone is technically an employee) the fact that they cannot speak poorly about any employee - former or current and that doing so would be a violation of law ... and
3. Is it possible to push forward a cease & desist order to make sure they respect the tender nature of this issue - or would that be overkill ?

Thank you for your help -
