I was precertified by insurance company for surgery, then after I had the procedure they sent paper requesting names of all doctors I had seen in the period just before my insurance went into effect. I'm pretty sure they're going to turn around and say it's a pre-existing conditionhttps://forum.freeadvice.com/images/smilies/mad.gif
, but it gripes me that they waited until after to request this info. Does giving a precert# obligate them to pay up? Do I have any recourse at all in this? Also, this company does not have open enrollment but allows for a woman who becomes pregnant to enroll. How is that not a pre-existing condition?

The law specifically states that pregnancy CANNOT be considered a pre-existing condition on employer sponsored group plans. That's how.
