i live in missouri.my employer only employs 11 people. i was recently laid off due to the fact i am pregnant. my doctor sees no reason why i can not work but there are a few restrictions, example no heavy lifting and stay away from chemicals. my employers says there is no longer a place for me due to preg. and restrictions in addition i am raising the rates on her workmans comp. insurance. does the pregnancy discrimination act still apply to my situation? is there anything i can do i will lose not only my wages but my health insurance.

Preganacy Discrimation

Dear Grn,
I know how it feels when someone doesnt want to keep you cause your having a baby.I was denied a easy job cause i was preg. then banned from their store. Its not fair and i think something should be done about it.I use to do CNA work but i wanted to work at our local dollar store but was refused cause i was preg. Its just not fair.

EEOC

Sounds to me like you are being discriminated because that you are pregnant. I agree it isn't fair. I am sure the EEOC would agree. See what they have to say.
