I live in Florida - I am pregnant & going through a divorce, the baby is not my "almost" ex-husband's. The company I work for is not doing so well money wise, and are always trying to find ways to cut back. Well I am being watched very closely because they think I am unstabble due to my situation. I am dealing with all of my personal issues quite well, my boss agrees, as well. However, some days I have to have conference calls with my attorney, etc. and I have to leave early some days. The President of the company asked my boss if I could handle the job still? or did they need to find someone else for her? I believe they do not want to pay for my maternity leave, nor keep my position open any longer. I think they think this would be a good reason to get rid of me by saying I am "unstabble" and can't handle the job. So my question is; could I have a lawsuit against them if they did let me go, considering I AM NOT unstabble & pregnant?
