In the past 2 months I bought a used 1994 Ford Taurus from a private owner. I have had a motor mount replaced--and at that time, a mechanic who works at the same place was surprised to see the car still on the road. It seems that the previous owner had the car in the shop and was told that the bearings were going bad and that the engine will need to be replaced. They told me it would cost around $3000! ! ! The previous owners never said anything about this to us. Do we have any legal recourse in this matter??

My response:

No.

Because:

1. You didn't tell us your State name (See the red writing way up there ?).

2. You didn't have the vehicle inspected by your mechanic prior to purchase. In private sales, the duty is on the buyer, and the seller makes no warranties or guarantees, unless in writing.

You bought a car, and you bought the car "AS-IS" and "WHERE-IS".
