Principal say "can't attend school dance"

If you are a students in an alternative high school program run by the school district, and you play sports for the highschool and are required to purchase an "ASB" card, can the principal of the high school tell you that you are not allowed to attend a high school dance. The only reason for the denial is that you are part of the district but not part of the high school. What are my rights.

Why are you at the alternative school?

You have no "rights" to attend.

The school can restrict attendees to the dance to pupils of the school only. Playing for a school team or going to a school in the district is not a free pass to attend.
