What is the name of your state? California

Her former high school published my daughter's (with her boyfriend) photo, taken at senior prom, to accompany a story on young people 18 and younger already having sex.

First of all, my daughter never gave anyone permission to use that photo. Second, she was already 18 when that photo was taken. Third, it was irresponsible and malicious to use a photo of real people for such a story.

What are my daughter's legal rights? I'll appreciate your advice.

What, if anything, did this publication say about your daughter?

Did it imply she was having sex before she was 18?

Yes, it implied that. Every one I asked who read the story thought that the story implied that.
If that were my daughter, I would've already been to a lawyer's office, where I suggest you go.
