My question is this: can a person put up a 6ft privacy fence on waterfront property? This 6ft privacy fence will be obstructing our view of the water. If so, can anything be done for the loss of our property value? If you have any insights as to the laws on this, especially any view ordinances, in Norfolk, VA, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

there are no longer easments for light and air to protect your view. You might argue to the planning commission that it is out o f character with the neiborhood.
