Is there anything a person can do if a website has factual personal information (birthday) that you don't want public?

I already asked the site to remove my birthday because I don't want it public. They responded saying "it is not our policy to remove factual information".

What kind of website is this? And why did you provide them with your birthdate if you didn't want it publicized along with your other information?

Births are public record. With a little digging one can find out anybody's birthday provided it was filed with the county where they were born. While you may wish it to be, your birth date is not private.
