What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? MO I work in a federal building as a contractor. I have a handicap placard and I have been told that the handicap spots are reserved and I have been placed on a waiting list to get a handicap parking spot. Is this legal and can this be enforced. I am really wanting to know for it just doesnt sound right? Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have been told that the handicap spots are reserved
Who told you?

I see no problem reserving them for employees who work there on a daily basis.

A designated handicapped parking space is not a free-for-all for all cars with handicapped plates/permits. There can certainly be other restrictions in place if it's a private parking facility.

I disagree. If he qualifies for any parking at he facility, he should be allowed access to the handicapped spaces under the ADA. The concept of a waiting list for handicapped spaces is in clear violation with the law. I'd consult the IG of whatever agency he's contracting for.

I agree with one reservation. If this is a federal building, the UFAS may apply.
