Hello, last week I bought a 2002 used car in PA and was told that the warranty is valid untill 2007. I drove it for a couple days and noticed certain things wrong with it, for instance the transmission will not go into manual shift, the headlights are misaligned, and the car shakes while driving it. I figure no big deal I'll just get it fixed at the dealer under warranty. For the heck of it I checked the car with carfax and found out that the car was "reconstructed" and that the warranty is voided! The person who sold me this car had not mention one word about the car being totaled before. I can prove that this person knew about the wreck she was selling me. The other thing is that I bought this car at a value of what a "real used car" costs which means I payed alot more than I should have! I saw someone mention the Used Vehicle Warranty Law on this forum but am unsure on whether it covers this kinda thing. I am not sure on what to do now. I would like my money back for the car as it has no resale value anymore.
Please help
Thanks in advance

caveat emptor
(kah-vee-ott emptor) Latin for "let the buyer beware." The basic premise that the buyer buys at his/her own risk and therefore should examine and test a product himself/herself for obvious defects and imperfections. Caveat emptor still applies even if the purchase is "as is" or when a defect is obvious upon reasonable inspection before purchase.

Bottom line.. it was incumbent on YOU to do your 'due diligence' by inspecting and INVESTIGATING the vehicle prior to your purchase. You didn't and are now 'stuck' with the car. Your only recourse at this point is to file a lawsuit against the seller.... and HOPE that you get a very kind (and confused) judge.
