What is the name of your state? Kentuckly
Purchased a used car from private party and it started over heating took it to two mechanics and found that it was not overheating but the gauge was inaccurate and would require almost all quages to be replaced in dash . So got statement from mechanic what temperature car ran and was not overheating. Months later decided to sell and explained all this to the purchaser. Showed her paper from mechanic as to what temperature car runs that is normal and showed her where radiator, hoses, thermostat all had been replaced while trying to find the problem before mechanic saying it was actually the temperature control guage.
After my purchasing another car decided to sell. Buyer test drove the car and had no problems with what I had told her. Purchased the car and three days later calls screaming calling me a liar and saying I repeatedly told her it did not overheat and that needle stayed in the middle. Now she has filed small claims suit saying I lied and wanting 1313.00 for repairs. Says she has taken to mechanic and it will cost 1313. to have fixed. I sold her the car for 1500.00 each even though I was asking 1900. She could use that 400.00 to have quages fixed if she do desired. All transactions were verbal. My mistake. Where do I stand? Can't afford to pay her 1313.00 of the 1500. I sold it for when I don't believe anything is wrong except the guage.
