hello

i recently had a court appearance in which the judge attempted to discipline me for representing myself instead of using a lawyer. what right if any does a judge have to tell me i should use a lawyer in the state of new jersey? my file was not complete, unfortunately, but that is the fault of my paralegal and ex husband. my divorce is uncontested, no shared property, no children, no shared assets and we are not vested in our pensions. the judge was quite abusive and i attempted to get a copy of the court transcript which is on CD. I have a feeling they were trying to discourage me by telling me they wanted a deposit of $100. is it possible that they were telling the truth about the amount?

much thanks, Debbie
