My dr placed me on med leave from work on 4/8 due to severe depression and anxiety for which he has been adjusting my medication to remedy. I misinformed nurse accidently told the ins co that I was able to return to work as of May 1, though I am still under dr orders not to. My dr has completed excessive paperwork, wrote letters, and even called the ins co to straighten this out several times. Despite this, the ins co has told my employer I should have returned 5/1 and are trying to get out of paying for my disabilty for the past 4 months. My dr is still trying to staighten them out. This has not only harmed my professional reputation with my employer and co-workers, but has greatly interupted my recovery due to the stress and worry they have caused by their lies. Can they do this? Please help me. Is this considered defamation or mental anguish or something? It doesn't seem fair that this big ins co can ruin my life like this and not be liable for it. Any advice?
