Problem with neighbors and their alnight parties

What is the name of your state? Mo I live next to a single woman and her 18 year old son in a house. Everynight her son and about 15 kids have underaged drinking parties next door, with his mother's knowledge.
I have could the Sherriff's office numerous times. One time a deputy made them dump their beer in the fire they had in their back yard, the mother was home at the time. The deputy told me they agreed to going in and being quiet, this was at 1:00 am.
They ride dirt bikes constantly and have tore up the grass on our side of the property line. Actually we have no grass anymore where they have been riding at.
They domonate our lives. We can't go to bed until they do.We try to keep our utility cost's down by not running our airconditioner at night, but here latly we have had to run it to cut down on the noise alittle. The dust from the dirtbikes is awful! My four year old hardly ever can go to bed before midnight.I wish we could sale our home and buy another one but can't because it's a USDA home owners loan.
There have been many of times where we have been afraid to call law inforcement because when we have in the past, the neighbor's become more hostal towards us.The neighbor boy nor his mother give a grap what the law says, they will be back at it the next night. My health has not been good, the stess of all this is taking it's toll on me. Hopefully someone can give me some advice on how to handle this. I'v been thinking about filing a claim against her,but wasn't sure if I could.I was told by a deputy that it doesn't hurt a person mentally to not have enough sleep at night. Can you beleive that!

This is what Kids that age do during the summer, they coud be out riding around in their pickup's shhoting at stop signs, the sheriff would rather keep them off the roads.

Problem with the neighbor's parties

My neighbor's who live on the other side of us,are friends to them.I dought it bothers them as much as it does us. Our house's our right on top of one another. They don't have any little kids to have to get to bed at a desent hour either. We try to stay to ourselves as much as possible, so we hardly talk to the other neighbors

Oh,beleive me, they are on and off the road all hours of the night. When they run out of beer they can hardly walk, but they get in their cars so drunk they can't hardly walk to get more. There are other things for kids to do besides annoying the neighbors everynight allnight long.Tell me something, would you put up with it? Would you put up with kids keeping you and your child up all hours of the night? There are also public places for kids to ride their dirtbikes with no houses around.

Find out if there is a noise ordinance in your municipality. If there is, find out what are its' limits and call the cops when the neighbors surpass these limits.

Whenever they drive on your side of the property line, call the cops and file tresspassing charges against them.

File a small claims suit for the damage they have done to your grass.

If you see an obviously drunk person getting into a car and driving, report it to the authorities.

I beleive Missouri does have neighbor neuinses laws. Thanks for all the advice.I just want to be able to go to sleep at a desent hour, and for my child not to be up past 11:eek:o pm. He gets very cranky around 8pm and if he can't sleep,it only gits worse.

Oh really? My friends have teen kids, my brother has teen kids, I don't know anybody whose kids are driving around SHOOTING at stuff, much less tearing up property or disturbing the neighbors until 1 am. After 10, they MUST keep it down. Must be a southern thing!

I have teens across the street - I can hear them and their friends through the window in the summer, late at night. They don't disturb anybody, they laugh, they talk, they go for walks, they jump on the trampoline. Their parents would never allow disruptive behavior, nor would we.

YOu may want to consider some sort of physical barrier to keep them out of your yard. Rolls of bamboo fencing could be put up seasonally to confound their access to your yard.

I never allowed my kids to disrespect neighbor's either. If I ever heard of them doing so, there would be hell to pay! Right now it is 12:52 am and the party is still on next door, kids hollering, cars with loud tail pipes going in and out of the driveway.I called the sherriff's office at 10:55 and let a deputy know what was going on,but haven't seen hide nor hair of them. When they were caught drinking in their back yard, the deputy just told them to dump their beer out in their fire. They are all underage to be drinking. The mother was home and didn't get in any trouble for allowing this to go on.My husband says that when he was a kid,he would go out to a creek with freinds to party where there were no houses around.
I may end up having to talk to an attorney. I wouldn't care to much if this was only on the weekend, but this is an everynight thing, mentally it gets to be too much!

Don't know what to tell you. Our cops show up if someone has a rummage sale, and patrons park on both sides of the street! They's be all over the disorderly conduct and underage drinking, and you can bet the adults would be under arrest. All I can suggest is that you try going in and ttalking to whomever runs the local station about the leneincy that is being shown this situation it sends the wrong signal, including that supplying alchohol to under age youths is going to be basically ignored. If it is a small local dept, try having a meeting with the police chief . Try the local alderman, also.

I can guaranty that the cops in my neighborhood would never have allowed this.

I'v never heard of the state police, explain this to me please.I'm interested in knowing more. It may sound stupid but I'v didn't know there was a state police.

As far as I know there are Police for cities and towns, Sheriffs for the Counties and State Police or aka Highway Patrol that cover all of the above. You could try your local social services since they are underage.

Thanks for the advice! Since I posted last all has been quiet, and the other night a deputy did finally show up around 2am the next morning. I'm hoping that whatever the deputy said might have cooled their heals, hopefully anyway! It was great to finnally be able to put my four year old to bed by 8pm and to get a good night of rest or should I say three good nights of rest.
