What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NC
Quick and Speedy trial:
I advised my attorney that if charges were to be brought against me, that I would not want to waive my right to a quick trial. I would like it over one way or another as soon as possible, and also if prosecution wasn't ready, perhaps it could be dismissed. My understanding was that 90 days give or take met the definition.
My attorney stated that "quick and speedy" was "whenever they could get around to it" and any motion to dismiss on that basis was likely to be denied, over and over.
Does this sound right?
Thanks.
