In Texas my home is exempt in a bankruptcy. When I purchased the property on which my home sits I was able to a land only mortgage. It does not include the home. Strange I know but that is what the mortgage company wanted because the "home" was not up to their standards. So, I have a homestead exemption and my mortgage is a land only loan.

Is my home and property it sits on exempt in this case? Can I reaffirm my land only mortgage?

In addition, I have read that the proceeds of the sale are exempt for 6 months. Does this mean 6 months before I file for BK or 6 months after the BK?

Thanks
