What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Massachusetts. I was working on my Bachelor's Degree in Business Admininistration at Southern New Hampshire University. I had a course where the professor told me that he would give me an Incomplete and now denies it. He gave me an F in the course. It is the only course that I need to take in order to finish my degree. I have thought about making him take a polygraph test. I don't know what my rights are? If I should pursue it or not. What are the next steps that I should take?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank You,

Margaret Paul

Professor has the right to assign you an F. There may have been a discussion about assigning an incomplete for the class, and the professor may have even agreed to do so, but that does not mean he cannot change his mind on further reflection or discussion with other staff members.

This is not a polygraph type of situation. There have been no charges, and this is not Law and Order.

WHY did you two talk about an Incomplete? What are the circumstances?

Don't you think it would be easier to finish the class than making this any more of a BFD?
