What is the name of your state? Louisiana

wages are being garnished after a 2 years old default judgment on a credit card debt.
Recieved a "proof of service" by city court
The service was done at my work, I never recieved anything.
The default and service was in my maiden name from 8 years ago. No one at my employment knows my maiden name.
Human resources matched my social security, thus garnished.
I was never able to defend myself in city court to charges.
Do I have any recourse?
The debt was my ex's and I am on the credit account.
Will the attorney work with me or since he has a $4K judgment be a jerk?
Whats my next step?
Thanks
