What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NJ, this happened in NJ but I actually live in PA now, about 5 months ago I sold a bunch of very expensive star wars stuff cheap, it was worth a lot of money and I had NO idea....I feel like a complete bonehead because the things I sold were worth at least 500 dollars!!! I had no idea, anyway, what happened was I advertised to sell the items at 100 dollars, and they were not mine, they were my older sons from when he was younger, he didnt know I was selling the things becuase he left them at my house for so long I didnt know the worth of them. So needless to say I sold the items to some guy who refused to sell them back but 'could you blaim him' I mean he got close to 1,000 dollars worth of things for 100 bucks, I tried writting him and explaining the items were not even mine to sell and that my son was infuriated with me for selling the stuff and he just basically wrote back and asked me if I wanted to sell more stuff, I dont think he was getting the jist of my message or reading it, I just wanted to know if he is obligated in any way to give them items back since they were not mine to sell to begin with and that my son is now ticked at me. I didnt know the items were worth that much money and I was wondering if there is any way the law can make him give back the stuff??? I dont think there is but at least Im throwing it out there to ask, please do not be rude Im all too familiar with smart elec answers from some posters on here not just becuase I dont agree with them but because some of them mark curt or snide remarks when it really is not necessary, so if your not going to be nice, please do not reply. thanks,
