What is the name of your state? I am in NJ.

My wife has got an accident. She drove throughout front glass wall of the barber shop, making damage to the shop. She was diriving the car which was registered on my name and Auto Insurance also on my name. I have $50K property damage liability. Chances are insurance claim will run more than $50K, are making us responsible for the differences.

Does anybody come across situation like this?
Do I need a Lawyer ?
If yes what kind of Lawyer?
Can they freeze my assets?
Can they go against further earnings?

Any information on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

If the damage is more than what your insurance pays, then your WIFE may owe the difference.

What reason would you possibly have to avoid this? You didn't buy enough insurance. So the business owners should lose because of this? I don't understand.
