My neighbor applied vegetation killer to an area of my yard. This killed the grass in the area. I'm afraid it might kill the trees and bushes in that area. In addition, I'm afraid he will cause further damage if this is done again. I have not contacted the neighbor regarding this matter. Further, the neighbor and I have never had any problem before this incident. Should I contact an attorney to help me with this matter???

Why did he do it and was it an accident? How big of an area are we talking about?
Have you considered just replanting the grass and not making a big deal about it?

The area is actually large. It is a wooded area which is common in my subdivision. I'm quessing 100 feet. The area touches his yard plus turns a corner into my yard. Grass will not grow for years were vegetation killer has been used. In order to plant new grass, I would have to dig down approximately 8-10 inches in a 12 foot strip area, remove the dirt and replace it. Then I could plant grass.

Is the area approx. 120 square feet? If so I consider it a small area. That is only about 1/4 the size of a 2 car garage.
