About a year ago when I was living with my sister, I put a washer/dryer set on my credit as a way to repay her for letting me stay with her. She could not put it in her name because of her credit. We no longer stay together but she kept the washer/dryer. Now she has been neglecting to make payments on it and I fear for my credit. I was telling her that if she cannot make payments that I would take the washer/dryer from her, but she is denying me access to the washer/dryer and saying she will file charges for harassment against me.
An almost identical situation happened a few months ago with a vehicle I had under my name for her which almost ended with a repo on my credit. On that situation she ended up paying the outstanding late fees and gave back the vehicle.
Now she is trying to claim that not only will she file charges against me for harassment about the washer/dryer, but she is saying that I owe her for the payments she made on the vehicle. My question is, what are my rights to the washer/dryer? And if she still refuses to give it back, how should I go about getting the property back in my possession? Also, do her threats of harassment hold any ground? All I do is call and text her to remind her about payment dates and also to inform her about late fees that are being assessed, while she rudely responds by telling me not to contact her. Also, is it safe to assume that I do not legally owe her any money for the above situation about the vehicle?
EDIT: The washer/dryer is technically on a joint account with me and my ex-husband(primary). When we got divorced, it was agreed that I would pay off the rest of the account and give him back sole ownership of the account. The washer/dryer is the only thing left on the account.
