I've rented a house in California for 8 years. In the 8 years I've lived here, I've only bounced the rent check 3 times (not on purpose). This last time that it happened, the property management company handed me a letter telling me that they will not accept my checks anymore and they will NOT TAKE CASH! This means I have to PAY to PAY THEM. Money Orders are not free! I feel this is unreasonable given the amount of years I've lived here. Do I have any rights to demand they take cash or my checks again. Is there anything I can do about this?

NO you screwed up, and if you want to live there you will have to buy a money order to pay for your rent.

You should have been more careful, I bet if you paid the rent late it would have bben cheaper then all the bounced check charges.

And of course they wont accept cash, its for their employees safety, just think if they did accept cash from all their tenants would YOU like to be the person who has to carry maybe tens of thousands of dollars in cash to the bank.... i dont think so.
