I live in VA on a Lake. A house is being built next to us which is 3ft closer to our property line than it should be.(Should be 15ft, it is 12 ft.) The deed is good for 40 years, from l987. They are also building a boat dock, right on our line and it extends 1-2ft over the property line in the water. This dock will extend way beyond ours, obstructing our view, causing a danger to our "swimmers". It has already cost us $600 to have a new survey done, because during the constuction of this new house the "marked" pins were buried, thereby the property lines could not be seen. Can you suggest what would be a reasonable course of action and what we should say to this builder?
