i am writing from edinburg, texas. i have been served with a suit on some property taxes due back from 1982-1984 on property that i co-owned with my ex-husband. what are the statues on these taxes? how do i settle this matter? i am currently in the process of selling my current home and will purchase a new one in about two months. what happens if a judgement is put agianst me? i the divoice decrea states he is liable for all taxes am i still liable? if the decrea states a 50/50 split can they put a judgement on me for the full amount? it is around $12,000.00. how do i get information on where they come up with this amount. if this property was given back to the lean holder am i still liable? need help.....
