I've been unemployed for 6 months. My wife wants to refinance the bills using the house on a 1st mtg. She wants me to sign a quick claim deed signing over the house to her. Her name will only be on the deed and mtg. She wants to consolidate all of the bills except my car payment and my credit card for 15,000 which I borrowed cash to pay bills for the past 6 months. If I quick claim over to her am I giving up all rights to the house if she files for divores in the future. Will I lose all of the equity that I have built up in the house? Can she throw me out after I sign the quick claim deed? We live and own in the State of Indiana and have been married for 24 years we have owned the property for 13 years. She claims she will rewrite the mtg. and quick claim back to me after I have been on the job for 2 years.

It doesnt' seem like this is a good time to be making those decisions. The word 'divorce' comes up a little too much. You've been married for 24 years? and she's wanting the house in her name, and will give you back an interest in it after you've been a good boy and worked for 2 years?

Somethings not right; I'd not be signing anything right now if I were in your situation.
