The offending website has changed the content as I would imagine their ISP notified them of my complaint. However, Google did cache the page and also timestamped when it last crawled the page (November).

When I found the page, I saved a copy and contacted my father by telephone and had him print out and save a copy also.

Is what I have enough? Is there anything else I can do to preserve the evidence? I am fearful Google may re-crawl the offending site and lose the current cache.

Good thinking!

Yes. And if you know of others who can testify that they saw the page in it’s original form, that would be great too. Can you make a copy of the links that come up when you do a search for your site, to show that your link and the “other” link appeared close together? You can’t have too much evidence!

If I were you, I’d also ask a notary to make copies of everything that can still be found on line and stamp those copies for you. Then Dad won’t even have to come to court!

I don’t know how long cache stays up but your goal should be to get this negative stuff about your company removed from public view. Once you’ve made all your copies, write the owner and tell him to get the cache removed immediately and to put up a retraction and apology.
