What is the name of your state? Tennessee

I recently sold an established website on a secure auction site. I provided a disclaimer in the auction stating that current income may not be acheived unless plenty of work is put into it. I even provided a detailed guide about all the advertising practices I used.

The client decided to move the website to his own server, I provided support and was able to get the site running on his server however it had a few bugs that I could not figure out (because his server's support was awful) therefore I offered free hosting on my server and switched the site over to it where it was working properly.

He is now stating that I committed fraud by not providing a full website and because his website is not currently generating any income that it is my fault.

I have done everything in my power to assist in this transaction, does anyone know the legalities here? I have kept logs of every email sent and have always been professional whereas he has been rude and improper for the majority of the transfer. He has not advertised the website at all (hence, no sales) and is blaming me for the bugs it had (however that resulted from his decision to switch servers) He is not very knowledgable about computers or how they work, that much is obvious.

Does any know, worst case scenario where this will lead? Any ideas what I can do to protect myself and in the future? I am just attempting to make some additional income creating and selling websites but I keep running into inept individuals who blame me for there inability to manage the websites they purchase.

Any input would be greatly appreciated, thank you,

Daniel Wilder

Did you provide a warranty when you sold the website?

If not, do nothing. If he wants to sue you, then you can defend yourself. If you sold "as-is" with no warranty, there shouldn't be much to worry about.
