I'm in NY. I'm a songwriter, and I've been offered a contract on a song; the song was registered with the US Copyright office with my real name and the pseudonym; I've been using the pseudonym for the song, and that's who the contract was offered to; I'd like to sign the song contract using just my pseudonym and I guess my s.s.# for i.d. purposes; can I do this? Will I be protected as the writer by doing this? Anything else I should do to be able to function as a songwriter using only my pseudonym. Thanks!

The person or firm seeking to license it will want to know it is getting clear title and full rights.

I'll be shocked if they don't want something definitive if they really want to proceed.

I'm sure I will list the copyright number in the contract; the pseudonym is listed in the copyright; I figure with the valid copyright and s.s.#, it would be a clear i.d. of me.
