Myself, co-president & school principal wrote & signed letter to committee chair expressing discontent with fiscal management of an event, and relieved person of any volunteer duties in future that would require handlling money. This letter was addressed to the person only and mailed to their home. This person was enraged and has repeatedly called and assumed a threatening posture with several members. He has used profanity and made multiple calls trying to further his position, and has accused one of the letter writers of being a liar who is out to ruin his good name. This was a volunteer position for school PTA, not a paid position, and nothing was announced publicly.

He has told another member that his lawyer told him he only has a (defamation) case if a lot of people are told, so he is telling everyone he can find. Huh? That can't be true?? The letter did not use inflammatory language, was very matter of fact and was meant to be private. Did we mess up? We still stand behind what we said in the letter.

Do we need to "lawyer up"??
