my storage units were auctioned off two days before the agreed upon date i was to pay. they broke a verbal agreement; do i have a case?

What does the WRITTEN agreement say??
Were you late with the rent payment??
Did the person you made the 'verbal' agreement with have the authority to enter that agreement?
What did the property owner say when you wrote them a letter (certified RRR) demanding return of your items or compensation for your damages??
