What is the name of your state? Calif

I purchased 3 iPods online (thru Yahoo if that matters) 7/04 for $1000 (retail $1500) from a private party and now the police apparently have arrested him for theft.
I did not know they were stolen.
1 was given away as a gift, 2 were sold to buyers in other states.

Question is can I be held liable for the return of the items or the money?

I don't think they will bother with you. I had a similar situation happen through Ebay and I got a phone call from the Secret Service with some standard questions about how many transactions I had had with the seller, how I paid, did I receive what I ordered, etc. That was the end of it.
