Here is my situation.
I recently (5 days) purchased a Washer and Dryer on Craigslist.
the ad read simply "Washer and Dryer, newer, Both are in good working order $350. call xxx-xxx-xxxx"

So Went over to the apartment and the couple told me both "work great" and that they just moved into an apartment with no hook-ups. (couldnt test em!)

I didnt sign anything and nor did i have them sign anything, both the washer and dryer looked clean and "newer". so i went with it.
Well i drove them home and got them into place and the Washer was so off-balance it almost put a hole in my wall. and the dryer got so hot i burned my finger on the door.
both garbage.

My question is what sort of responsiblities do the sellers have?
i offered to return both to their apartment, in exchange for my money back.
they are saying "tough cookies."

-Burnt girl in Eugene Oregon.

PS 350 might not sound like a lot but im a broke student, i dont have money to burn on busted appliances.

pps
I dont even really care about the burn, i want either a W and D or my money back!
WHAT CAN I DO ???

ppps is "they work great " a form of puffing?

THANK YOU
