Put on Furlough on TN

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? TX

I am lately put on unpaid furlough by the company. I am holding a TN visa and don't know what to do next. Furlough started 12th of Oct. and I only came to know today that I have to leave US the same as I was laid off.

Can anyone please tell me if it's too late to file I-539 now? I have a baby on the way, really difficult for me to just pack and go. The company didn't give any notice in advance.
